Can Attorneys Get a Google Guaranteed Badge?

No. Attorneys can not get a Google Guaranteed badge. They can, however, get a Google Screened check mark alongside their Local Services Ads. Google Guaranteed and Google Screened are two separate things.

What is Google Guaranteed?

Google Guaranteed is for home service providers.

Google provides a guarantee and refunds people up to $2000 if something goes wrong with a Google Guaranteed advertiser.

Home Service Providers are businesses such as: Plumbers, HVAC Repair, Garage Door Repair, Electricians, Lawn Care Services and Locksmiths.

Attorneys and Law Firms may not get the Google Guaranteed badge.

What is Google Screened?

Google Screened is for professionals. To get “Google Screened” you must sign up for Google Local Services Ads (LSA). All professionals who use LSA are Google Screened.

Google Screened is basically the same thing as Google Guaranteed except Google does not “guarantee” the service provided.

Professionals include attorneys, veterinarians, financial planners. For attorneys, the categories include Bankruptcy, Business, Criminal Defense, DUI, Labor, Personal Injury, Immigration, Family Lawyers and more.

Can I Pay $50/mo for an Upgraded Google Business Profile?

No.

Several articles on the Internet claim you can pay $50/mo or $600/yr for a Google Guaranteed Badge which will display on your Google Business Profile page. Some articles claim the badge leads to a higher Click Through Rate (CTR). Some articles claim you’ll rank higher in Local Seach (aka Google Maps or the “Local Pack”). These are all wrong. What happened was, back in 2020, Google did indeed briefly experiment with this. However, it was simply an experiment. Google experiments with things all the time. At the time of this article, November 2022, some law firm marketing agencies are still pushing incorrect information.

The only place a Google Guaranteed Badge displays is on Home Service Providers’ Local Services Ads.

The Google Screened Check Mark & The Google Guaranteed Badge:

Home Service Providers get a badge. The badge does not show up on their Google Business Profile page. It only displays on their LSA advertisements. Their LSA ads only display when someone performs a search query looking for a home service provider such as a plumber.

Attorneys get a green check. The check does not show up on their Google Business Profile page. It only displays on their LSA advertisements. Their LSA ads only display when someone performs a search query looking for a professional such as a personal injury lawyer.
