Case Study: Professional Spanish Translations on a Multilingual WordPress Law Firm Website

Our personal injury law firm client came to us seeking SEO, content marketing, and Spanish translation services.

Their previous SEO agency had thrown a Spanish page onto their English site and called it a day. Unfortunately, this looked awful, and to make mattes worse they actually used Google Translate to tanslate the content from English to Spanish.

We’ve been using WordPress Multilingual (WPML) for a long time. In fact, we’re grandfathered in to their old lifetime plans which WPML no longer offers.

Bragging aside, WPML allows WordPress website owners:

  • to have a fully functional multilingual site
  • enter their own custom translated content in
  • to properly configure hreflang tags. The hreflang attribute is an HTML tag that tells search engines about alternate language versions of a webpage, helping them understand the relationship between different language versions of a page on a website.

What we did for the client:

  • we built them a fresh, lightweight, properly functioning WordPress website
  • used our contractor to create true translations using the local dialect
  • configured WPML and properly set up the new Spanish translations

This was a huge win as the firm is in southern Texas and the attorneys and entire staff speak Spanish, as do many of the clients.
